I thought it was a beautifully designed memorial. Obviously our relationship with Russia was better back then. We have yet to see it up close and personal since we've not been back East since. As for why you guys look so tall ... the person who took the photo angled the camera/phone to get the entire memorial into the frame. I imagine the hair tussling becomes important in the humidity of the East Coast ... I remember doing that too, now that you mention it ... must have been an unconscious act, though. Glad they managed to fill in for the missed Studio Tour, but perhaps you would have enjoyed the day more had they taken you all back to the High Line or to the other park for a wander.Erinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08333995679958103393noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6915357815051575646.post-23586954657845272192022-09-26T20:30:45.974-07:002022-09-26T20:30:45.974-07:00I too have never heard of the teardrop memorial an...I too have never heard of the teardrop memorial and and I'm just amazed that it was a gift from Russia given the situation with them now. But you guys look great with such long legs. Sure wish I could have them. You're Noshing tour is something David would absolutely have loved. And Me Too! For that matter but I wouldn't have wanted to miss the last 2 spots because my guide talked too much.Sherryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00328866430156879312noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6915357815051575646.post-91615841752113323922022-09-26T16:36:24.457-07:002022-09-26T16:36:24.457-07:00Another reader who cannot log in to google (this i...Another reader who cannot log in to google (this is getting tiresome!) I must admit I am exhausted just reading about your NYC trip. I'd love to see all those places but at 50% speed, please. I have never heard of the Teardrop Memorial either, but my first thought was, wonder if the Russians figured out a way to bury spying equipment in it! I'm so suspicious! It is really too bad you didn't get to see the HIgh Line. Since you had time after the NBC cancellation, it is too bad they didn't take you back there for a leisurely visit. I'm guessing you were glad when this part of your trip was over.

Liz"Sue Malonehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00332448503740101970noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6915357815051575646.post-50955377389895474482022-09-26T06:32:03.532-07:002022-09-26T06:32:03.532-07:00Long legs and tosseled hair, what next? Rush-rush-rush is not my idea of fun, either. Neither had I ever heard of the Teardrop Memorial; it looks beautiful. Soarin' is a Disney ride that Jimmy and I have been on several times and we love it. Wasn't aware it had been adapted for NYC! Didn't know about Little Island, but six years ago we spent a bunch of hours on the Highline Trail -- total fun. You would've enjoyed it six years ago, too. I hear you longing for quiet and green!Nickie and Jimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11566506168550004304noreply@blogger.com
