And yes, high speed internet at our homes makes all the difference when traveling in between. Next time you're in Nehalem, stop by Buttercup for outstanding chowder. It's a unique little shop, with a delightful chef/owner and a creative assortment of chowders that change daily.
You had such gorgeous weather for your trip, and your photos, as always, are beautiful. One of my favorite things to do, regardless of weather, tho cool sunshiny days are preferred. I had to grin when I saw the town of Yachats, because of all the different attempts at pronunciation! Cute town. Lots of neat town along the coast, as well as inland ... and you got to see some of those, too, thanks to a missed turn. Serendipity! Glad you had a good time.Nickie and Jimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11566506168550004304noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6915357815051575646.post-52247924063674998092019-06-17T06:30:10.508-07:002019-06-17T06:30:10.508-07:00Ah yes, Gaelyn. We had a paper map, but the turn ...Ah yes, Gaelyn. We had a paper map, but the turn was ambiguous. And the paper map was to small a scale for that part. Didn't think it was a problem getting down the coast on 101. But then there was that side road sign that said "this way", and then no sign for the end of the side road that should have said "that way". So much for shortcuts. LOL I knew we were heading north and east instead of south and east, but finally decided so be it. 26 was an OK route, it was just that 23 miles that was hilarious. We laughed after the fact.Sue Malonehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00332448503740101970noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6915357815051575646.post-40361626869781332672019-06-17T06:27:35.467-07:002019-06-17T06:27:35.467-07:00Yes, George, it truly was a delightful trip for us...Yes, George, it truly was a delightful trip for us. Hopefully you will get out to Oregon sometime soon. But I guess that is a very long drive from Ontario, especially in the summer. Might not be as much fun here in the winter. Not much snow here on the west side, but still cold fog and rain during that time of year. Nice to see you enjoying your summer at home.
Sue Malonehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00332448503740101970noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6915357815051575646.post-85491687227014962252019-06-17T05:46:29.095-07:002019-06-17T05:46:29.095-07:00For being a month late this was a great blog :)! Also like Yachats and agree a slow coastal trip is in order. Spending time with family could only improve on the delightful Oregon coast. And you did get to wander on the return.
